WideView 3D Side Scan Sonar

Marine Electronics 3D Multibeam Side Scan Sonar “WideView” is a combination of Multibeam and Interferometric acoustic technology. Using the latest digital signal processing techniques the dual side scan operates over a field of view of 120º with no blind spots under the survey track. By interleaving the transmissions from the four arrays on each side of the towfish this enables survey speeds up to four times faster than a conventional side scan sonar.

WideView is a shallow water survey tool and can be supplied to operate at various acoustic frequencies. The 250KHz version will range up to 200m whereas the 500KHz version will range up to 100m.

WideView can be supplied as a complete system integrated into a Tow Fish with the options of forward looking Sonar, downward looking Altimeter, pressure sensor and an emergency relocation beacon/strobe. Alternatively the WideView Transducer Array can be supplied on a V-Plate for use on an over side pole or clients towed body / ROV / AUV.

The standard system comprises of the Transducer Array, Sonar Interface Unit and operating software running under the windows platform. The software undertakes all the tasks from data acquisition to the production of the final bathymetry and side scan data images. Interfaces are available to third party hydrographic survey software suites.
